Late summer: Project monarch - Part two (in collaboration with IHT)
Time: TBD
Place: The Garden Project on the Transfer Station Rd.

Description: Did you know the Milkweed is the only plant that Monarch Butterflies will lay their eggs on? After Tammy Hagerthy of Stonington discovered this essential role of Milkweed with her granddaughter while shopping for garden plants, they decided to inspire the community to plant and protect more Milkweed to help the local Monarch population survive.

To join Tammy in protecting Monarch Butterflies’ and other pollinator’s fragile existence on Deer Isle, we invite you to mark your calendars for a two-part celebratory family event in partnership with Ready By 21 Mentoring and Island Heritage Trust. Thanks to everyone who participated in part one. For part two, we will meet in later summer for a butterfly release!
